The CMR Institute of Technology (CMRIT) was established in 2000 and it is a private engineering college located in Bangalore, India. CMRIT is an Technical institution affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University.
CMRIT is set up in order to meet the rapid growing need of IT Professionals. The broad objectives of CMRIT is to impart quality education and help students to develop creative thinking, analytical ability and to acquire managerial techniques both in practical fields as well in academics.

The logo was collectively launched by CMR Ja Trust and the CMR Group of Institutions. While the rationale of the identity is rooted in Indian tradition. It is rendered in a contemporary form. Arepresentation of knowledge and learning the logo draws its inspiration from the Hansa, the Swan-a bird which is the carrier of the Goddess Saraswati – the Goddess of Learning.
