CIT was established in the year 2001 with the objective of providing quality technical education to the students. Channabasaveshwara Institute of Technology (CIT) runs under the auspices of Sri Channabasaveshwara Swamy Rural Education Society (CRED Society). The society was established in 2000 under the Chairmanship of Sri G.S.Basavaraj.

The Vision of the college is to create centres of excellence in education and to serve the society by enhancing the quality of life through value based professional leadership.
