Mumbai B.Tech Admission 2016

Mumbai is a metropolitan city which is located on the west coast of India. Over the years, Mumbai has come out as the hottest destination for pursuing engineering courses. At present, there are so many well-recognized universities/colleges in Mumbai, which provides engineering courses in different disciplines. In this article, we will discuss about Mumbai B.Tech Admission 2016 that includes the process of admission, eligibility requirements, exam dates and documents necessary for the admission.

State Exam

 Through the JEE Main 2016 exam candidates will get admission in various engineering programmes of various government and non-government colleges/universities located in Mumbai. The application form of JEE Main 2016 exam will be provided from the first week of November 2015 (Tentative).

B.Tech Admission 2016

Those students who are interested to take admission in B.Tech courses in Mumbai have to clear the JEE Main 2016 exam with a good aggregate. Candidates can get the application form of JEE Main 2016 exam via online process from the official website. Candidates don’t forget to read the eligibility criteria before filling the application form. Here is the eligibility criteria are given for the admission in B.Tech courses:
  • Candidates have to clear the JEE Main 2016 exam with a good aggregate.
  • Candidates must pass their 12th class or equivalent exam from the well-recognized board with securing minimum 50% marks for general category candidates and 45% marks for reserved category candidates.
  • In the 12th class or equivalent exam, Mathematics and Physics are compulsory subjects along with any one of the optional subjects (Chemistry, Computer Science and English).
Here is the date of the JEE Main 2016 (Tentative) exam, which is mentioned below:
  • writing based paper – first week of April 2016
  • computer based Paper – second to third week of April 2016

Documents Required

Candidates are required some documents for the admission in B.Tech Courses, which is mentioned below:
  • Mark sheet of 12th or equivalent exam
  • Mark sheet of 10th class
  • Migration certificate
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • Photograph
  • Domicile certificate
  • JEE Main 2016 exam admit and score card

Selection Process

The admission in the B.Tech Courses will be made according to the marks scored by the candidates in the JEE Main 2016 exam and 12th or equivalent exam. Candidates have to clear the JEE Main exam for admission in B.Tech Courses. After clearing the JEE Main 2016 exam, candidates are required to pay the counselling fee and after that candidates should choose their choices of courses and colleges/universities. Allotment of seats will be done strictly on the basis of merit list and choices and availability of seats in the colleges/universities. After the seat allotment candidates need to report to the allotted college/university to complete the admission process.
