Engineering in Chemical Engineering Courses in India

Chemical Engineering is a branch of engineering which deals with design, supervision, construction, installing and operating of plants and equipments for manufacturing chemical products and introducing new methods of production. The subject uses the combined knowledge of Chemistry and Engineering for the production of chemicals and related by-products. In addition, chemical engineering studies pioneering valuable new materials and techniques – such as nanotechnology, fuel cells and biomedical engineering.

Chemical Engineering has made a scientific breakthrough by creating synthetic replacements for our limited natural materials and resources. The study of chemical engineering involves manufacturing plastics, paints, fuels, fibers, medicines, fertilizers, semiconductors, paper, and other types of chemicals by carrying out chemical reactions and purifications; inventing cleaner technologies for protecting the environment; and finding ways to recycle the waste products.
