Engineering in Environmental Engineering Courses in India

Environmental engineering is a division of engineering that applies the knowledge of science and engineering principles to preserve and improve the environment such as water, air and soil resources in order to provide healthy environment. Through increased use of chemicals in industry and agricultural, the environment has become severely polluted. Skilled professionals in this field are called as environmental engineers. They are concerned with nationwide and worldwide environmental issues. They study and try to reduce the effects of ozone depletion, global warming, automobile emissions and acid rain. They are also concerned in the protection of wildlife.

Scope in environmental sciences: -

Basic Eligibility

UG:

For admission in a bachelor’s degree, the candidate must have passed the higher secondary school certificate (10+2) examination with science subject such as biology, maths and chemistry. For IITs, It is mandatory to qualify in the Joint Entrance Examinations (J.E.E).  The duration for the course is 4 years.

PG:

The eligibility criteria for pursuing a master’s degree are holding a bachelor's degree in (B.E/B.Tech) or any other equivalent branches of engineering. The duration for the course is 2 years.
