Metallurgical engineering is a division of engineering discipline which studies the physical and chemical activities of metallic elements and their inter-metallic compounds, and their mixtures, which are known as alloys. Metals play a vital role in almost every aspect of modern life. It also encompasses the study of exotic materials, pure and combined which has applications in various industries. It is one of the most important and emerging branches of engineering with the modern applications demanding materials with high strength-low weight along with other factors. This Metallurgical engineering course focuses on engineering metals and other materials for performance in an application which also gives an individual pursuing this course a much focused approach in materials technology rather than a holistic broad approach of engineering without application orientation.
