Vel Tech has provided access to high quality multipurpose technical education without any barrier by instituting 7 Crore Mahatma Gandhi National Merit Scholarships to ensure that the poor but meritorious are not denied such access.
This noble vision has borne fruit by attracting students from across the country, students from each state and so far more than 400 students have had the benefit of totally FREE education, boarding and lodging. It was fitting  that the 7th Mahatma Gandhi scholarships worth 1 crore to 119 students from all states of India studying in Vel Tech were distributed by Mr.Narayanamurthy, Chairman Emeritus Infosys and Dr. Sudha murthy, Chairperson Infosys foundation, known for their noble thinking and care for the underprivileged in the society.
VelTech University is headed by the Vice - Chancellor Dr.Beela Satyanarayana. The Directors of Research, Admission, Placement, Student Mentoring report directly to the Vice - Chancellor. The various Schools are headed by Deans and the Departments by HODs. The Administration is supported actively by University Board of Advisors, School Board of Advisors and Student Advisory Council.

Admission Details of VTEC Chennai:-

Students taking admission online can print their branch allotment order and receipt online. They must report to the University one day before opening along with their original certificate as listed below for verification by the Admission Officer. They can pay balance fees, hostel fees/transport fees and collect identity card
Class X Board Certificate as a proof for date of birth.
Class XII (Qualifying Examination)Mark Sheet (or net downloaded copy if original is not available)
Community Certificate (For all categories except General)
Nativity Certificate (For candidates hailing from Jammu and Kashmir and the North Eastern States of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura)
Transfer certificate
Candidates may come in person and meet the University Admission Officer before 10th Sep 2013 Those students coming to the University directly for admission should produce the following documents in original along with one set of photocopies while reporting
